A paperweight made by the Italian glass maker Pietro Bigaglia in 1846. Pietro was a golden glass boy and contributed with great panache in his designs to the development of the first paperweight. Bigaglia’s family owned glass making shops in Venice from around 1674, glass making was in his blood.
