INFANT FAUN

Original painted by Edward Clark Potter 1887/89

Sleeping Infant Faun Visited by an Inquisitive Rabbit brought home to us the absolute purity and innocence of a sleeping child, originally a bronze sculpture by Edward now a cult print, perfect for an infant's bedroom or any interior space asking for a calm and beautiful atmosphere.

In Potter's interpretation, only the faun's, a deity of the fields and herds, has pointy ears and a pair of reed pipes indicate that the figure is not simply a pudgy young nude slumbering on a forest floor. The infant doses, an inquisitive rabbit nibbles on the leafy garland encircling his disheveled hair which almost looks like the topping of a homemade apple cake, there’s an undeniable charm to this sculpture we are pleased to revive in art print form for all to adore.

Curated and remastered by Pineapple Gallery’s art director Esther D’Amico, CULT is an exclusive collection of fine art prints that bridges classic art history and contemporary living. Explore CULT.
