Original painted by  Edward Clark Potter 1887/89

Sleeping Infant Faun Visited by an Inquisitive Rabbit brought home to us the absolute purity and innocence of a sleeping child, originally a bronze sculpture by Edward now a cult print, perfect for an infant’s bedroom or any interior space asking for a calm and beautiful atmosphere.

In Potter’s interpretation, only the faun’s, a deity of the fields and herds, has pointy ears and a pair of reed pipes indicate that the figure is not simply a pudgy young nude slumbering on a forest floor. The infant doses, an inquisitive rabbit nibbles on the leafy garland encircling his disheveled hair which almost looks like the topping of a homemade apple cake, there’s an undeniable charm to this sculpture we are pleased to revive in art print form for all to adore.
