When people think of Gaugin they think of the island beauties he so tenderly painted but according to CNN, a handwritten letter from Van Gogh to Paul stated “We’ve made some excursions in the brothels, and it’s likely that we’ll eventually go there often for work,” wrote Van Gogh, he described Gauguin as an “unspoiled creature with the instincts of a wild beast.” A lot about Paul remains a mystery, we love the yellow palette of this artwork and the simple outline of the children.
